Invitation to the event organized by "EGTC Amphictyony" on Thursday, September 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the Amalia Hotel in Athens, within the framework of the "Silver Recycling Democracy Lab" project—implemented by the EGTC in collaboration with ALDA and aligned with the "Seeds of Democracy: Connecting People and Communities!" initiative.
The "Silver Recycling Democracy Lab" approaches recycling not merely as an environmental practice, but also as a tool for citizen engagement and the strengthening of local democracy. Through a targeted, low-cost intervention, the project aims to create a participatory space where retirees can express their views, identify issues, and collaboratively shape proposals to improve local recycling practices. The project promotes participatory governance, inclusion, and cooperation between citizens and local authorities.
We held a participatory event to
disseminate and communicate the results of the "Silver Recycling
Democracy Lab" project, placing the voices and active participation of
older citizens at the forefront. Through dialogue regarding recycling
and everyday environmental challenges, we exchanged experiences,
identified needs, and collaboratively sought practical solutions for the
community.
For local democracy is strengthened when every generation participates, is heard, and helps shape the future of its community.
